Let’s face it the bride usually gets her way when it comes to wedding cake’s overall look. But that's not to say that there can't be a tribute to the groom nestled in somewhere. That's where the “Peek-a-Boo” design feature comes into play. “A bride will ask us to incorporate something that is symbolic of the groom and his interest,” says Nancy Remy of Nancy's bakery in Somerset Massachusetts. “We use fondant to make it look like it's popping out of the cake and we usually place it in the back so it ends up being a surprise when the groom sees it”.
